What is continuous Passive Motion (CPM) ?

Continuous Passive Motion apparatus provides an effective and affordable treatment option for helping patients to recover range of motion (ROM) following surgery or trauma. The CPM machine can be used after surgery to allow the knee joint to slowly move. When applied correctly and used as part of a therapeutic protocol CPM machines may provide the following benefits

· Prevent motion-limiting adhesions and stiffness of joints · Promote soft tissue and cartilage healing
· Promote circulation
· Reduce pain and swelling
· Improve metabolism and nutrition to the joint & soft tissues
· Improve range of motion and flexibility

At Tricare BMS not only can we supply and set up your CPM machine at your home in time for you to leave the hospital but we are also committed to providing you with the ongoing support and assistance you need throughout your rehabilitation.

Do you need to temporarily hire a wheelchair?

If you have a broken leg, an elderly relative on short stay or are  waiting for a wheelchair from the NHS,        our temporary wheelchair hire service could be the ideal alternative during the interim period.

We provide a hire service for manual wheelchairs in both self propelling (with large rear wheels) and attendant propelled (four small wheels, needs helper to push) versions and can deliver to mainland UK the next day if ordered by  2pm.

If you are unsure as to which type is right for you our therapists can also lead you in the right direction. Terms & Conditions apply.

Can't use crutches - Why not try a knee scooter ?

A knee scooter is a three or four-wheel walking aid that provides a unique alternative to standard walkers, canes, and crutches. Knee walkers allow users to propel themselves with one leg, while the other rests on a support platform.

These devices are ideally suited to individuals who find it difficult or impossible to bear weight on an temporarily injured or permanently disabled leg. Terms & Conditions apply.
